Fieke Nijland

Fieke Nijland is the Vice President Legal of Emirates Shipping Line based in its UAE headquarters and holds a LLM in Commercial Law from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

She is a legal professional with over 20 years of international in-house counsel experience in the shipping and commodity trading sectors, working across the Netherlands, Greece, Qatar, and the UAE with comprehensive expertise in multi-jurisdictional corporate transactions, including ship sale & purchase, asset financing, joint ventures, charter parties, EPC contracts, shipbuilding & repair, and dispute resolution.

Her career spans leading industry players such as Nidera, Qatar Gas Transport Company Limited (Nakilat) and P&O Maritime Logistics.

Fieke is committed to empowering women in maritime and promoting inclusive leadership across the industry. As a WISTA board member, she aims to support WISTA’s mission to foster professional development, and stronger representation for women in shipping and trading worldwide.
